Let’s get down to business: You’ve seen “The Big Short” and “Margin Call” and now, here’s “Equity”, the latest Wall Street themed film, but focused on the women in the business.
Sony Pictures has obtained the rights to the film “Equity”, and they did so at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
The film centers on Anna Gunn’s character, Naomi Bishop, an investment banker caught in a financial scandal while trying to escape the corruption involved in the business. Gunn’s acting credits include “Enemy of the State”, “Nobody’s Baby”, and “Little Red Wagon.” Not only is she a film actress, but she is also well-known for her character Skyler White on the AMC hit TV show “Breaking Bad”. Gunn has won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Support in a Drama Series in 2013 and 2014 for said role.
As for the cast, many actors such as James Purefoy, Sarah Megan Thomas, and Alysia Renier will be in the movie. Meanwhile, Meera Menon has been appointed as the director of “Equity”. Menon directing credits include “Farah Goes Bang” and “Mark in Argentina”. Amy Fox has written the screenplay.
“Equity” has been released in theaters on January 26th
