While it is expected that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bauista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) will all be returning for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” there are rumors of new characters being added to the highly-anticipated sequel’s cast.

Joining Michael Rooker’s Yondu and Karen Gillan’s Nebula will be the character of Mantis, who will be making her debut to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The role will be played by “Oldboy’s” Pom Klementieff. For those who do not know about Mantis, she is described as having the powers to telepathically communicate with plants, survive while in space, and transfer herself from plant to plant across interstellar distances. She can also achieve a meditative state in which she becomes immune to most physical, mental, or spiritual damages.

Before “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” hits theaters, Marvel will be releasing “Captain America: Civil War” and “Doctor Strange.
