Any fan of horror will be saddened to hear that the legendary Angus Scrimm has passed away at the age of 89 in Kansas City, Kansas on August 19, 1926. Scrimm is best known for his work in the horror series “Phantasm.“ Born by the name of Lawrence Rory Guy, it is said he passed away surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Scrimm played arguably the greatest horror icons of all time: the Tall Man. The Tall Man is a supernatural mortician, naturally up to no good. He played the infamous Tall Man four times in the influential Phantasm franchise. The fifth movie is scheduled to be released later this year. At conventions, “thousands of people would come to stand in line, and have their picture taken with him and talk to him,” “Phantasm” writer and director Don Coscarelli said. “He gave each five minutes of his time.”
At first Scrimm wanted to be a writer. He studied at the University of Southern California but fate had other plans for him. He will go down as one of the best of all-time and will be missed by anyone who is a fan of his work.
