Entertainment Weekly has officially released the first photos from next years “Doctor Strange.” The photos feature Benedict Cumberbatch in full costume as Strange, his lair, and even in the hospital after the tragic event that causes him to lose use of his hands.
In an interview with the magazinem Cumberbatch addressed the hand gestures in the photos saying, “These gestures are ways of creating the magic. It’s a beautiful thing, it’s balletic, it’s very dynamic.”
Cumberbatch went on further about the movie saying that there’s all sorts of chaos, “Falling, flying, jumping, fighting, punching, getting punched. It’s really rough and tumble.”
“I’m perpetually awestruck that I’m getting to make this movie,” said director Scott Derrickson, who also spoke with EW, “I keep waiting for the knock on the door when somebody says, ‘This movie’s too weird, we can’t make this.'”
“Doctor Strange” is currently in production and has recently reveled that Mads Mikkelson will play the main villian.
“Mads’s character is a sorcerer who breaks off into his own sect. He believes that the Ancient One is just protecting her own power base and that the world may be better off if we were to allow some of these other things through,” said producer Kevin Feige about the character.
Along with Cumberbatch and Mikkelson, the film will also feature Chiwetel Ejifor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, Scott Atkins and Rachel McAdams. The film is set to be released November 4th, 2016.
