Today Marked the official release of the first trailer for one of next years most anticipated films,“X-Men: Apocalypse”. This trailer is exactly the one we needed and deserved. The trailer is filled with great moments and an ending scene that fans like myself have been waiting to see from this prequel trilogy.

The trailer begins the same way the one the one at the San Diego Comic Con began except for a few small changes, but basically a young Jean Grey ( Sophie Turner) has a vision of the end of the world. Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) who is still sporting long hair tries to ease her freight at what she saw but he knows something is coming. That something is Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac). Now I know people had issues with his look but here in the trailer and but based on the lighting, and I think the enhanced blue makeup used here he is more like the one we’ve come to know more importantly Isaac plays out that same god complex we’ve all come to know from reading the marvel comics.

Moira Taggert (a returning Rose Bryne) meets with Havok (Lucas Till) and Charles/ Professor X as they discuss the origins of this man. They come to find out he was the world’s first mutant and has powers beyond anything they could have imagined. He also has amassed a 4 man group that he calls his “Four Horsemen“. Psylocke (Olivia Munn) a young Storm (Alexandra Shipp) Angel (Ben Hardy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) all make up these individuals who seemed to over power Charles in a scene in the X-Mansion.

Jubilee (Lana Condor), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smitt McPhee), Quicksilver (Evan Peters) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) also shown in the trailer, as is Raven/Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) who decides to teams up with Charles, and Hank McCoy/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) for the first time in years to battle this new threat.

The best part of the trailer without question is the portrayal of Apocalypse. Oscar Isaac I think is going to be the highlight of this film. Physically and Psychologically he has created a god-like villain that feels as evil and powerful as the apocalypse I had imagined if ever brought to life. He even grows in size and power just like he was meant to. It’s so honest to the comics and so well done by Bryan Singer.

On the note of the new X-Men I am very interested to see the interactions between Sophie Turner and Jennifer Lawrence, two BIG (and Beautiful) stars that fan girls love and guys droll over. Raven and Nightcrawler share a lot of history together and so that will be interesting to see Smitt McPhee and Lawrence as well. Havok and Cyclops same thing so that will be fun to watch.

I mean to be honest “X-Men Days of Future Past” changed the series dramatically and so now so many possibilities and alternate stories can be explored now. Its all just so much to wait for and anticipate now its killing me! This honest to god is the film I am most looking forward to next year. “X-Men Apocalypse” hits theaters May 27th. Scroll down to check out the trailer.
