Chris Hemsworth, the star of “In the Heart of the Sea,” is discussing possibly taking on the role of famous fictional explorer Allan Quatermain.
Sources say that studios are now looking to package a project featuring Quatermain’s character along with a big-name actor like Hemsworth in order to grow the film into a franchise.
Quatermain originally appeared in H. Rider Haggard‘s novel “King Solomon’s Mines,” and again in thirteen sequels afterwards. Richard Chamberlain then took on the role in the 1985 adaptation of the book while the late Patrick Swayze appeared in the role in 2004.
There is no other word on any other details of the movie and it’s still awaiting a possible release date.
