Disney has announced the release date for the drama The Girl on the Train for October 7th. This film will star Emily Blunt (Into the Woods), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible- Rogue Nation), and Haley Bennett (The Equalizer).
Based on Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel, this story follows Rachel, a woman, who will be played by Blunt, that is upset after her recent divorce. Rather than moving on from the divorce, Rachel spends her time fantasizing about a perfect married couple who lived in a house that she passes each morning. However, she soon discovers that the married couple is involved in a mystery.
Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club, Suicide Squad) and Chris Evans (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Avengers) are now in talks to join the cast as well as Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, American Psycho).
The Help’s Tate Taylor is directing from Cressida Wilson’s script. Marc Platt will produce the film. Jared LeBoff is the executive producer.
The Girl on the Train will hit theaters October 7, 2016.
