James Wan, producer of The Conjuring and Furious 7, has now latched onto the movie version of The Boy Who Drew Monsters which was just picked up by New Line. Also on board are Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing, who just wrapped on The Autopsy of Jane Doe, to write the adaptation.

The book, published in 2014 and written by Keith Donahue, is a horror novel based upon a 10-year-old boy suffering from Agoraphobia and Asperger’s. He has the ability to bring to life whatever he draws in this drama, creature, and ghost story feature.

Michael Clear will produce alongside Wan, who helped bring the book into the label. Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, and Dave Neustadter will oversee the project, which has no announced production dates.
