X-Men: Apocalypse Director Bryan Singer has officially been hired to replace David Fincher as the director for the newest adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. For those of you not familiar with the story 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea is set in 1866 as several ships claim to have spotted a giant monster out in the ocean, and the government decides to put a team together to track and take it down. The story directly features French marine biologist Pierre Aronnax, Ned Land a master harpoonist, Conseil, and Captain Nemo.
The film will serve as Singer’s first non X-Men film since Jack The Giant Slayer in 2013. Presumably he will get to work on this film after he wraps things up with X-Men: Apocalypse which will be released next year. For now there is no other word in regards to this film.
