This Summers surprise hit Straight Outta Compton has broken a quite a few box office records and has even helped Universal become the fastest of the Hollywood studios to surpass $2 billion at the domestic box office. Now Straight Outta Compton in less than 3 weeks has achieved yet another major Milestone as it is now the highest selling muscial biopic in history.

According to Box Office Mojo, The N.W.A bio pic has surprised 2005’s Walk the Line, which held the previous record, Ray and The Coal Miners Daughter. Straight Outta Compton Reigns at the top of the list with $134.1 million in box office sales.

Straight Outta Compton stars O’Shea Jackson Jr. who plays his father; Ice Cube, Corey Hawkins who plays Dr. Dre; Jason Mitchell who plays the late Eazy-E; Neil Brown Jr. who plays DJ Yella; and Aldis Hodge who plays MC Ren. The movie details the group’s formation, rise to fame, and eventual split, as well as many other secret stories that fans may not have known about.
