This summer’s smash hit Jurassic World will be getting a sequel. Today Universal Studios announced that the sequel will bring back stars such as Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Producers Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall are slated to return. Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow will co-write the script with Derek Connolly, however, he will not direct. So far no plot details have been announced. Earning over $1.5 billion since it opened, Jurassic World is currently the third top-grossing film of all time, surpassing 2012’s The Avengers. This upcoming sequel will be the fifth film in total for the “Jurassic Park” franchise. It is expected to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
