The third Fantastic Four trailer was recently released, featuring Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman (Kate Mara), Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller), Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch (Michael B. Jordan), Ben Grimm aka The Thing (Jamie Bell), and Victor Domashev (Toby Kebbell). Teller, who plays the main character in Fantastic Four, acted recently in the 2015 three-time winning Oscar film Whiplash.
Directed by Josh Trank, the Marvel trailer starts out with a young Reed Richards who invented a teleportation device. Flash-forward a little to when the four superheroes, as young adults, continue to work on Richards’s device. The device that Richards created gave him and his three friends supernatural powers. As the trailer advances, Richards searches for a way to change him and his friends back into normal humans with no powers. Towards the end of the trailer, the villain, Doctor Doom, shown on the screen with a black hood on and a metal face that glows green. The trailer ends with the four superheroes battling Doctor Doom to save their world.
Many wonder how this 2015 Fantastic Four will differ from the 2005 Fantastic Four, which starred Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards, Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Johnny Storm as Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm, and Julian McMahon as Victor Von Doom. Director Josh Trank states, “I’ve loved The Fantastic Four since I was a kid. After we made Chronicle, I wanted to tackle the same subject again in a different way. I wanted to explore a side of these characters we haven’t seen before.” Writer Simon Kinberg agrees and states that their vision was “a more grounded, dramatic, character-driven story. More science than science-fiction.”
Fans will see the difference between the two movies on August 6th, which is when Fantastic Four will be released in theaters. scroll down to check out the trailer.
