This week Disney gave us the first look of the upcoming film The Finest Hours. The film is based off the book of the same name written by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias which tells the true story of the 1952 Pendleton rescue mission by the Coast Guard. The trailer gives us an epic glimpse of what causes the rescue mission as well as who some of the major players will be in the film. It also looks as though we’ll get to see a powerful female role in the film by Holiday Grainger played alongside the mostly male Coast Guard members. The film will focus on both the crew members of the ship being rescued and the members of the rescue team. It appears that we’ll get to see both the rescue mission as well as details of some of their personal lives. All things considered the trailer gives the feeling that this film will be both emotional with elements of high drama, action and survival, nothing that the mouse house hasn’t already put out (successfully) before. Directed by Craig Gillspie (who previously directed Disney’s Million Dollar Arm) it is set to star Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Eric Bana, Ben Foster and more. It should be noted that the trailer does not give a specific release date, only “coming this winter.” The release of the film has been pushed back by the studio a few times and, as of now, is January 29, 2016. Scroll Down to check out the trailer.
