Walt Disney Studios gave people one last serving before Thanksgiving ended.
Last night the first teaser poster and trailer was released for Disney’s live action retelling of the 1994 animation classic, ‘The Lion King‘. The teaser featured clips of the opening scene of the animated classic with the ‘Circle of Life’ that was created by Elton John and Tim Rice, and Simbas coronation along with a monologue from Mufasa (who will be voiced again by James Earl Jones).’The Lion King’ focuses on the son of a king who must overcome tragedy and betryal when his time comes to take the throne of Pride Rock.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the film is another addition to the recent live action retellings of past Disney animated classics such as, ‘Cinderella‘ (2015), ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ (2017), and ‘The Jungle Book‘ (2016) which was also directed by Favreau. The film is set to hit theaters in 2019 in which two additional live action adaptations are set to hit theaters as well, one being Tim Burtons ‘Dumbo‘ and the other Guy Ritchies ‘Aladdin‘.
Along with Favreau the film will bring in an all-star cast that includes, Donald Glover as Simba, Beyonce as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen as Timon and Pumbaa, and John Oliver as Zazu.
