Following the announcement that Sony will be releasing a standalone Venom movie, set to be released in 2018, we have now been given information regarding the production of the film.
The film will be shot in two cities, Atlanta and New York City. “Venom” will not be the only big budget film to shoot in Atlanta, as this summer’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was shot there, as well as several other upcoming Marvel films. The film also begins filming on September 1, 2017, but no end date has been confirmed.
For those unfamiliar, Venom is a villain in the Spiderman series, who has a resemblance of a darker Spiderman. The character was previously portrayed by Topher Grace in Sam Raimi’s “Spiderman 3.” New information has come out from Sony Producer Amy Pascal that the Sony Universe with both Venom and Black Cat will correlate within the MCU.
Fans might be excited to know that the film is rumored to be going for an R rating. No official release date has been given for the film which will star Tom Hardy as Venom and will be directed by Ruben Fleischer of “Zombieland” fame.
