After years of rumors and speculation, the official sequel to the 1982 cult-classic “Blade Runner” is finally getting a sequel and fans have finally gotten an extended look of the film thanks to a new trailer. If the trailer for “Blade Runner 2049” shows us anything, it is that director Denis Villeneuve is able to capture the visuals of this world perfectly. Right from the beginning, we see the Atari sign from the original and from there you are re-entered into the universe.
While the plot seems to be only hinted at here, we do know it takes place 30 years following the original and stars Ryan Gosling as Officer K, a blade runner who uncovers a long-buried secret that could result in chaos in society. This discovery leads him to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), the original blade runner, who has been missing since the events of the original.
We also get glimpses of Jared Leto, Robin Wright, and Dave Bautista, who are all joining the cast. Original director Ridley Scott is serving as executive producer. “Blade Runner 2049” is set to be released later this fall on October 6.
