It appears that Hobbs and Deckard Shaw aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. According to a report from Deadline.com, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham will co-star in an untitled spinoff film of the Fast and Furious Franchise.
Both will appear as their well known characters that have become fan favorites of the franchise, and it appears that Universal is thanking them by giving the characters their own film that apparently wont see Dom or the family around to help the two out. In the eighth installment, “The Fate of the Furious” Statham and Johnson’s characters were some of the highlights that people come out wanting more of their humor and butt-kicking action.
Today in an Instagram post ‘The Rock’ kept alluding to the fact that they will be appearing in a standalone film together. Along with those two action stars it appears that Charlize Theron’ character from the latest film, Chiper might be making an appearance in the spinoff. This will be interesting to see if the studios look to take all of these characters and allow the audience to see them on their own crazy adventures. The film has no release date as of yet and is in the early stages of Pre-Production.
