Netflix has acquired yet another film from a renowned director. Deadline has reported told that independent director Noah Baumbach‘s next film “The Meyerowitz Stories.“ Netflix made the announcement with IAC Films on Monday, April 10.
The film centers on adult siblings who, while estranged, are forced to gather together in New York to celebrate their father’s artistic work. It will star Adam Sadler, Ben Stiller, Emma Thompson, Elizabeth Marvel, Grace Van Patten, and Dustin Hoffman.
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos says in a statement: “Noah Baumbach is an important voice in American filmmaking and his films are always highly anticipated around the world. Noah is among the filmmakers that we were eager to work with, and I know that film enthusiasts everywhere will be as moved by this film as we were. We’re thrilled to be the avenue in which global audiences will be able to see the film.”
The movie is produced by Baumbach, Scott Rudin, Lila Yacoub, and Eli Bush. Baumbach’s last film was “Mistress America” with Greta Gerwig and Lola Kirke. “The Meyerowitz Stories” will come to Netflix sometime in 2017.
