It’s been nearly 8 years since the first “Avatar” came out and since then we have been getting rumors after rumors about a franchise in the making but their has never been a release date. Well the wait might be over as according to The Hollywood Reporter, Sigourney Weaver the sequels to the highest grossing film of all time will begin production in the fall of 2017.

Pushing the boundaries with technological filmmaking with the first one, James Cameron has been trying to push the boundaries with the sequels with spending years using underwater technology to try and capture Pandora’s marine life style.

Cameron now holds two of the highest grossing movies of all time in both “Titanic” and “Avatar” and is looking to make yet another historic mark with the sequels to one of his many masterpieces. Avatar 2 has no release date as of yet.
