It seems the legends of Hollywood will be uniting to work together. According to Variety, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep will be teaming up with Steven Spielberg on a film called “The Post.“ The film will be about how an editor and publisher went before a federal court and fought for the right to have the Pentagon Papers published. The film will be produced by both Fox and Spielberg’s production company Amblin Entertainment.
For Spielberg and Hanks this will be their fifth collaboration together and the first time that both Streep and the director will be working together. This film will be an instant awards contender and will now jump up to peoples most anticipated list, as both stars and the director are some of the best in the business now and arguably of all time, will be working together to bring this portion of our nations history to life. Streep is coming off her record breaking 20th Oscar nomination for her role as Opera singer Florence in “Florence Foster Jenkins” and Hanks and Spielberg last collaborated on the film “Bridge of Spies,“ which scored a Best Picture nomination in 2016.
Before working on the film Spielberg will finish up on his latest project based off of the hit novel, “Ready Player One” which will hit the screens on March 30, 2018. Currently ‘The Post’ has no release date but once it’s announced all eyes will be on this film.
