A new trailer has been released for the eight installment in “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, this one entitled, “The Fate of the Furious.” While the series has never relied too heavily on it’s storyline, this one seems to be interesting as it revolves around the series protagonist Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) being seduced into evil by the film’s antagonist Cipher (Charlize Theron).
The trailer showcases several of the fun, action-packed set pieces that the series has been known to deliver on. The first one, revolving around Theron’s character activating hundreds of cars remotely looks very interest and the scene taking place on the ice looks like it will get intense.
It was also nice to see several familiar faces from the franchise in the trailer. As expected, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodrigues, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and Dwayne Johnson all return as well as Jason Statham and Kurt Russell, who return from “Furious 7.” There is also a new director behind the camera this time around, with F. Gary Gray coming on board. “The Fate and the Furious” on April 14, 2017.
