Entertainment Weekly has just unveiled new photos and information on the upcoming Marvel film, “Thor: Ragnarok.“ The photos include a first look at Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who no longer has his hammer Mjolnir nor his signature blonde locks. Along with this, EW revealed what characters Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) look like in the movie. However, the biggest reveal comes with the first official look at main villain Hela (Cate Blanchett), ally Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), an game-obsessed entity and brother to the Collector (Benicio Del Toro).
Other details were revealed about the plot of the film. Having been trapped for a millennia, Hela has escaped from her prison in order to enact the Asgardian apocalypse, Ragnarok. When Thor first tries to fight her, he is thrust away onto the planet Skaar. There, Thor and disregarded warriors are forced to fight as gladiators for the amusement of Skaar’s ruler, the Grandmaster. Now, Thor will have to face Skaar’s most popular fighter: the Hulk (also Ruffalo).
The film is directed by Taika Waititi, who is also pictured below, with a script by Eric Pearson. It will also see Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Karl Urban as Skurge, Benedict Cumberbatch return as Dr. Stephen Strange. “Thor: Ragnarok” will hit theaters November 3, 2017.
