Legendary have found its star to battle Godzilla in “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.“ Deadline reports that recent breakout actress Millie Bobby Brown has been cast in the lead of the upcoming sequel. It is unknown if previous stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen would return to the sequel.
Brown has had numerous small roles in “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” “NCIS,“ “Modern Family,“ and “Grey’s Anatomy.“ However, it was her role as the enigmatic Eleven, or El, on Netflix‘s “Stranger Things” that drove Brown’s career up. Brown is also a model, and is filming the second season of “Stranger Things.”
The film is going to be directed by Michael Dougherty with a script written by Dougherty, Max Borenstein, and Zach Shields. This will be the 3rd film in what Legendary hopes to be a cinematic universe that they call MonsterVerse, with “Godzilla,“ “Kong: Skull Island,“ and Godzilla vs. Kong” being part of it. “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” comes out on March 22, 2019.
