Having been part of a franchise like “The Hunger Games” and joining another one with “War for the Planet of the Apes,“ Woody Harrelson may be joining yet another one. Variety reports that Harrelson is in talks to be part of the Star Wars spinoff film centering on Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich). The role that the actor would play would be that of a mentor who teaches Han the ropes of smuggling.
Besides playing main villain the Colonel in the third “Planet of the Apes,” Harrelson will also be playing U.S. president Lyndon B. Johnson in Rob Reiner‘s “LBJ.“ Harrelson will also be in the drama “The Glass Castle” with Brie Larson and Naomi Watts, the real-life journalist drama “Shock and Awe,“ and is playing the titular character in the adaption of Daniel Clowes‘s comic series “Wilson.” He also wrote, directed, and starred as himself in a live broadcast film called “Lost in London.“
Also in the film is Donald Glover, playing Han’s longtime buddy Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke as the female lead. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing the project. “Star Wars Han Solo” comes out in May 25, 2018.
