Entertainment Weekly is displaying more exclusive photos, as it reveals the first official look at writer and director Edgar Wright‘s upcoming action crime film, “Baby Driver. The photos main focus is on Baby (Ansel Elgort), the titular getaway driver who suffers from tinnitus. Because of the constant ringing in his ears, Baby drowns it down with music, where the action is choreographed around the songs that Baby listens to.

Wright told EW, “I always wanted to do an action movie that was powered by music. It’s something that’s very much a part of my previous films and I thought of this idea of how to take that a stage further by having a character who listens to music the entire time. So, you have this young getaway driver who has to soundtrack his entire existence, particularly the bank robberies and fast getaways that come afterwards.”

Wright also talked about the music of the film, saying, “It’s quite a wide range of music, though. There’s about 35 songs in the movie and they range from very famous to more obscure. It’s supposed to reflect the character’s extremely eclectic taste in music.”

The first photo not only shows Baby but Bats (Jamie Foxx), Baby’s impulsive gun-slinging accomplice. The second one shows Baby, Bats, party animal Buddy (Jon Hamm), and Buddy’s scandalous girlfriend Darling (Eiza González). The film centers on Baby who, after meeting the girl of his dreams, Deborah (Lily James), attempts to leave the his criminal life and his boss Doc (Kevin Spacey), fellow cohort Griff (Jon Bernthal), and the rest of his gang.

“Baby Driver” comes out August 11, 2017.
