Warner Bros. have revealed a new teaser for “Blade Runner 2049,“ the sequel to Ridley Scott‘s science fiction classic. Unlike the 1982 film, Scott will not be directing, handing over the reins to Denis Villenueve. The film also revealed the plot and the new Blade Runner at the center of the film.
Taking place 30 years after “Blade Runner,“ the movie centers on K (Ryan Gosling), a member of the LAPD and a Blade Runner. While hunting rogue Replicants, the human-like robots at the center of the film, K discovers a secret that could plunge society into anarchy. This forces K to hunt down former Blade Runner Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) in order to find answers.
Michael Green and Hampton Fancher wrote the script, based of a story from Fancher and Scott and elements from Philip K. Dick‘s short story. The film will also star Jared Leto, Dave Bautista, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James, and Ana de Armas. “Blade Runner 2049” drops on October 6, 2017.
