A second trailer has come out for “Fences,“ Denzel Washington‘s adaption of August Wilson‘s play. Washington will not only star in the film, but he will also direct it with a script adaption from Wilson himself. Washington began working on this film after finishing a Broadway run of the play with co-star Viola Davis.
In the movie, trash collector and former baseball player Troy Maxson (Washington) lives with his wife rose (Davis) and their teenage son Cory (Jovan Adepo) in 1950s Pittsburg. However, despite Troy’s respectable life among the neighborhood, he is still haunted by the fact that his race did not permit him to partake in baseball. Tensions rise between Troy and Cory, as Cory is prepared to leave for college off of a football scholarship.
Paramount Picture put out the trailer and will be distributing the film. Washington, Todd Black, and Scott Rudin produce the project. “Fences” comes out December 25, 2016.
