While Tim Miller left “Deadpool 2” over creative differences, 20th Century Fox have wasted no time in finding a replacement. The Hollywood Reporter states that director and stuntman David Leitch has been chosen to direct the sequel. Ryan Reynolds will once again be returning as the titular Merc with a Mouth.
Leitch is mostly known for working as a stuntman and stunt coordinator on films like “300,“ “V for Vendetta,“ “The Bourne Legacy,“ and “Jupiter Ascending.“ He and fellow collaborator Chad Stahelski gained attention as directors for directing the Keanu Reeves-aciton film, “John Wick.“ While Stahelski is working on the sequel, “John Wick: Chapter 2,“ Leitch is busy directing the Cold War thriller “The Coldest City” with Charlize Theron. Both Leitch and Stahelski are also rumored to be involved with Sony‘s adaption of the Valiant comic character, “Bloodshot.“
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are returning to write the script for the sequel. “Deadpool 2” comes out March 2, 2018.
