A new trailer has has appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for “Kong: Skull Island.“ Like with trailer for “Assassin’s Creed,“ the trailer was delivered to Jimmy Kimmel by Tom Hiddleston in a gorilla costume. Kimmel then proceed to play the trailer on the show.
In the film, which takes place in the 1970s, former British SAS officer Captain James Conrad (Hiddleston), US Army Lieutenant Colonel Packard (Samuel L. Jackson), and war photojournalist Weaver (Brie Larson) are hired by Bill Randa (John Goodman) to help him and his company Monarch investigate a mysterious island. As Conrad, Packard, Weaver, Randa, and other members of the US Army and Press are flying in, they see something massive. It is Kong, in all of his massive glory.
It is then revealed that Randa knew that this massive ape-like creature, and that he needs the group’s help in order to get back home with proof. It is then the group runs into the island’s natives and a stranded American (John C. Reilly). The American explains that Kong rules over the island and keeps to himself, but that other giant monsters roam the island and should be the ones to worry about. The trailer then introduces multiple types of Kaiju and ends with Kong thumping his chest and roaring out.
The film also stars Toby Kebbell (Major Chapman), Jing Tian (San), Jason Mitchell (Glenn Mill), Corey Hawkins, Thomas Mann (Blake Simpson), and Thomas Wilkinson. Jordan Vogt-Roberts directs the film from a script by Dan Gilroy and Max Borenstein. “Kong: Skull Island” is set to come out on March 10, 2017.
