Karen Gillan may best be known for her acting, but now she is about to go in a new direction for her career. Variety reports that Gillan is set to write and direct the film “Tupperware Party” for Mt. Hollywood Films, a new production company. This is part of Mt. Hollywoods five-picture slate that they have prepared for a 12 to 18 month timeframe, which includes the action flick “Texas Rangers: Z-Unit” from writer Mitch Iverson.

Mt. Hollywood president R. Andru Davies, said this about the plan, “We believe this is a substantial opportunity to engage a very talented and underutilized pool of talent, collaborating on films they’re excited about making.”

Along with this, Albert Gersten of Mt. Hollywood.“With Karen Gillan’s myriad talents as a writer-director and her rising international popularity, we are thrilled that ‘Tupperware Party’ will be Mt. Hollywood’s first project.”

Production will begin in early 2017 in Scotland, with Gillan also set to star in the film. Mali Elfman, Tien Huei Grace Yeh, and Claire Mundell will produce the film with Davies, Gersten, and Sloan Martin executive producing. Gillan is already starring as Nebula in Marvel‘s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and as Ruby Roundhouse in “Jumanji. No release date has been announced for “Tupperware Party.”
