A new trailer has been released for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In the trailer, new footage was revealed about three characters: first, there was Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), the father of main hero Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and the main scientist behind the Death Star. Then there is more footage on Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn), the director of the Death Troopers and the Imperial Officer that takes Galen away from his daughter years ago. Finally, there is also small amounts of footage of Darth Vader (James Earl Jones) seen talking with Krennic and looming over Galen.

The trailer also shows how the titular code name comes. While on a ship, former Imperial droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) says that the Rebellion needs a call sign from Jyn, Rebel Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), and former Imperial shipment driver Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed). Bodhi, while on the ship’s walkie-talkie, says that the callsign is Rogue One.

Besides scenes of action, character banter, and inspirational speeches, the trailer also displays diverse locations and new alien species for the Star Wars universe. The trailer also showed characters like assassin Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang), blind Force-sensitive monk Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen), and Rebel extremist Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker). The film is directed by Gareth Edwards from a script by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” lands December 16 in theaters.
