Chloë Grace Moretz is set to star in another horror film since 2013’s “Carrie,” this one also a remake, alongside Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, and Mia Goth in “Suspiria.” Along with the impressive cast, director Luca Guadagnino will be helming the project which was recently acquired by Amazon Studios. David Kajganich will also be writing the script, based Dario Argento and Daria Nicolodi’s original script. The film has been a passion project for Guadagnino, who has wanted to re-imagine the story and has been working hard to get the remake moving.
The original 1977 Italian horror film, directed by Argento, follows young ballet dancer Susy Bannion (Johnson), who travels to a renowned dance academy in Europe run by Mme Blanc (Swinton). It is there that Suzy discovers that there is a supernatural presence and a series of evil murders taking place at the academy. Now that Moretz has signed on, the project is officially greenlit and will begin production this month in Italy and Hungary. There is no official release date slated for “Suspiria.”
