Fashion designer Tom Ford made a critically acclaimed debut as a film writer and director with 2009’s “A Single Man.“ Now, he is back with his second feature “Nocturnal Animals,“ which just revealed its first trailer. Based on the novel Tony and Susan by Austin Wright, the film stars Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal.
In the film, Susan Morrow (Adams) is an art gallery owner unsatisfied with her lifestyle and haunted by past demons. It is then that Susan gets a package from her ex-husband Edward Sheffield (Gyllenhaal), an unpublished author. It is a book titled Nocturnal Animals, a thriller that centers on math professor Tony Hastings (also Gyllenhaal) who, along with his family, encounter a violent drifter (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) while on vacation. As Susan reads the book, Susan begins to suspect that Nocturnal Animals may be a veiled threat from Edward.
The film also stars Michael Shannon, Andrea Riseborough, Isla Fisher, and Armie Hammer. “Nocturnal Animals” comes out on December 9, 2016.
