Netflix has once again bought another film for its streaming service. Variety reports that Netflix is in final negotiations to buy the science fiction thriller “What Happened to Monday?” It stars Noomi Rapace, Willem Dafoe, and Glenn Close, and takes place in a future where families are limited to one child due to overpopulation. However, a set of identical septuplets must avoid the government from putting them into hibernation after one of them goes missing.
The project was sold at the Toronto Film Festival with CAA packaging it. It was shown in private screenings to favorable responses. The film is directed by Tommy Wirkola from a script by Kerry Williamson and Max Botkin. “What Happened to Monday?” will come to the United Kingdom on November 15, 2016, while a release in the US is still being sorted out.
