Having starred in the original 1987 “Predator“ with Arnold Schwarzenegger, director Shane Black has found a star to replace Schwarzenegger. Deadline broke that actor Benicio Del Toro is in talks to star in the reboot for the iconic alien hunter, known only as “The Predator.“ CAA, LBI Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson.
Del Toro recently was in the action thriller “Sicario” as hitman Alejandro and was the voice of the Snake in Netflix‘s “The Little Prince.“ His next projects include a sequel to “Sicario,” titled “Soldado,“ and is also in a role Terrence Malick‘s music drama “Weightless.“ Del Toro is also in “Star Wars Episode VIII” in a rumored villain role.
Fred Dekker is scripting the project with Black for 20th Century Fox. “The Predator” will come out February 9, 2018.
