A shortlist has just revealed the possible directors for Marvel Studios next big project, “Captain Marvel.“ The Hollywood Reporter reveals that there are three possible contenders for directing the film: Niki Caro, Lesli Linka Glatter, and Lorene Scafaria.
Caro is best know directing Oscar-nominated films “Whale Rider” and “North Country,“ along with “McFarland, USA” and the upcoming “The Zookeeper’s Wife.“ Meanwhile, Glatter has only directed numerous projects on television, such as episodes of “Homeland,“ “Mad Men,” “House,“ “The West Wing,” “Twin Peaks,“ and other TV episodes and film. Her only film credit is the independent film “Now and Then” starring Christina Ricci and Rosie O’Donnell. Finally, Scafaria gained attention for directing films such as “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World,“ “The Meddler,“ and a couple of episodes of “New Girl.“
The film has already set Brie Larson to play Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel, with Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman writing a script. “Captain Marvel” will come out on March 8, 2019.
