Filming has begun for “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” starring Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman in Cincinnati. Along with production starting, Variety reports that actress Alicia Silverstone has joined the cast for the drama film. Silverstone is best know for the role of Cher from 1995’s “Clueless” and as Batgirl from 1997’s critical and financial bomb “Batman & Robin. She has not been as active, having appeared in 2012’s “Vamps” opposite to Krysten Ritter.

In the movie, a boy named Martin (Barry Keoghan) begins a friendship with a charismatic surgeon named Steven (Farrell) and his wife (Kidman). However, Steven’s relationship with Martin becomes disturbing as the surgeon’s life begins to fall apart.

The movie is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos from a script by Lanthimos and Efthymis Filippou. Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe are producing for Element Pictures, with A24 distributing the film. “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” will come out sometime in 2017.
