Disney is once again adapting another classic story, this time in the classic ballet “The Nutcracker. Titled The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” the story will center on Clara (Foy) given a Christmas nutcracker by her parents that comes to life and fights the seven-headed Mouse King. It is based off of E.T.A. Hoffmann‘d 1816 story “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.” An Alexandre Dumas adaptation was later adapted into the iconic ballet by composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov in 1892.

Foy is best known for breaking out in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” and “2” as Renesmee, Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) daughter. She would also be the voice of Celestine in the animated film “Ernest & Celestine” and play the character Cindy in “The Conjuring. Foy then gained critical acclaim for her performance in Christopher Nolan‘s “Interstellar” as Murph, the daughter of main protagonist Cooper (Matthew McConaughey). She will be voicing the Little Girl in Netflix‘s “The Little Prince.

It was previously announced that dancer Misty Copeland would be in the film as part of as the lead ballerina in a single dance number. Lasse Hallström will direct the film with a script by Ashleigh Powell. “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” currently has no release date.
