A second trailer has released online for Oliver Stone‘s upcoming biopic of the NSA leak, “Sowden.“ In the film, Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a former soldier-in-training, CIA and NSA analyst, is meeting with reporters Glenn Greenwald (Zachary Quinto), Ewen MacAskill (Tom Wilkinson), and Laura Poitras (Melissa Leo). It is then that Snowden recounts the events that lead him on the run.
The trailer flashes back to Snowden being introduced with working at the NSA, and moving to DC with his girlfriend Lindsay Mills (Shailene Woodley). However, Snowden is introduced to the NSA computer program that watches everyone with a computer, tablet, and smartphone. This causes him to become paranoid, and conflicted with the US government. In the end, Snowden steals the NSA spying information, and goes on the run.
The movie will also star Rhys Ifans, Nicholas Cage, Logan Marshall-Green, Scott Eastwood, and Timothy Olyphant. Oliver Stone wrote the script with Kieran Fitzgerald, based of the book The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man by Luke Harding and Time of the Octopus by Anatoly Kucherena. “Snowden” will come out on September 16, 2016.
