The Warner Bros. panel at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con has released a trailer to their next DC Cinematic Universe film, “Wonder Woman.“ Gal Gadot is playing the titular Amazon in her first solo cinematic debut. The trailer first introduces Wonder Woman, aka Princess Diana, when WWI pilot Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) is found on the shores of Themyscira. As the first man to step foot onto Themyscira, this causes the citizens of the island and their queen, Hippolyta (Connie Neilsen) wonder what to do with Steve. Meanwhile, Steve’s appearance cause Diana’s want to enter the world of man.
However, with World War I happening, Diana relizes that she must become this world’s hero, and stop a mysterious German (Danny Hudson) and his masked henchwoman (Elena Anaya). The trailer then show Wonder Woman fighting Germans along with fellow Amazons such as her mother Hippolyta, her aunt and Amazonian general Antiope (Robin Wright), and Antiope’s lieutenant Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli). The trailer ends with Wonder Woman, after being told the definition of a secretary by Steve, compares the description to slavery.
Patty Jenkins directs the film with a script from Geoff Johns and Allan Heinberg. “Wonder Woman” will come out on June 2, 2017.
