Ever since its production delay, fans have been wondering when production would start at all for the X-Men spinoff movie, “Gambit. Now, screenwriter Simon Kinberg may now have relieved fans worries. In a video interview with The Hashtag Show, Kinberg talked about upcoming X-Men films such as “Deadpool 2” and “The New Mutants. To view the whole conversation, watch the video above.

When asked about Gambit, Kinberg had this to say: “We have a great script on that and hope to shoot that movie at the beginning of spring of next year.” So, it seems that 20th Century Fox will in fact be shooting “Gambit” in the spring. The film already has Channing Tatum on board to play fan-favorite cajun mutant Remy Lebeau aka Gambit in the film, with Doug Limen set to direct the flick. Currently, no release date has been announced for “Gambit.”
