How did 2 twenty-somethings form a$300 contract with the Pentagon and become the biggest gun runners during the War on Terror? That’s the question that director Todd Philips hopes to answer in the comedic war drama and true story, “War Dogs.”

The trailer begins with David Packouz (Miles Teller) talking to his girlfriend Iz (Ana de Armas). It is then that David sees a group of Afghani fighters aproaching. He then calls to his partner, Efraim Diveroli (Jonah Hill) to get in the truck and run. The trailer then switches gears and flashes back to David working as a massage therapist before being approached by his high school friend Efraim to work with him running guns. Despite David against the war, he agrees and they soon begin to run guns for the U.S. Army. However, as the money began coming in, they soon begin to trade with a shadier dealer (Bradley Cooper). Now, they both may be in too deep.

The script was written by Philips, Stephen Chin, and Jason Smilovic. It is based off the article”Arms and the Dudes” by Guy Lawson. “War Dogs” will come on August 19 of this year.
