Steven Spielberg‘s next big film, “Ready Player One,“ is prepping for film with a stellar cast. Now, actress Hannah John-Kamen has been cast in an unspecified role for the adaption of Ernest Cline’s novel. Kamen is best known for playing the character Dutch in the Syfy series, “Killjoys” and Rosa Persaud in the British/French tv show “The Tunnel.“ She also had a bit role as a First Order Officer in “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” and as the character Ornela on sixth season of “Game of Thrones.“
Set in the near future, the film centers on Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan), a player of the virtual reality game OASIS. Under the user name Parzival, Wade is hunting for clues for the massive fortune grand prize of the game’s creator James Donovan Halliday (Mark Rylance). However, when Wade finds the first clue to the prize, he must travel through the pop culture landscape of OASIS with fellow player Art3mis (Olivia Cooke) while avoiding danger from ambition businessman Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn).
The film also stars Simon Pegg as Halliday’s partner Ogden Morrow, T.J. Miller as OASIS AI i-R0k, and Japanese pop star Win Morisaki as fellow player Daito. Author Cline adapted his novel into a script with Zak Penn and Eric Eason. “Ready Player One” will release on March 30, 2018.
