British writer and director Andrea Arnold is making her move to America, as her new film, “American Honey,“ explores the present-day youth of the US. In the film, the story centers on Star (newcomer Sasha Lane), a teen on her own with nothing to lose. It is then that she meets a magazine sales crew, led by Crystal (Riley Keough), who travel across America to sell magazine subscriptions. It is with this crew that Star falls for the crew’s carefree, partying ways, and for the charismatic Jake (Shia LaBeouf). However, is this the future that Star wants?
“American Honey” first released at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival on May 15 and was the Jury Prize Winner. Arnold previous directorial work include “Red Road,“ “Tank Fish,“ and the 2011 remake of “Wuthering Heights.“ Currently, “American Honey has no release date.
