Donald Glover has been cast in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.“ However, who he has been cast as is currently a secret. He will be joining Tom Holland (Peter Parker), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Zendaya (Michelle), Tony Revolori (Manuel), and a rumored Michael Keaton supposedly playing the main villain.
Glover is best known for playing Troy on NBC‘s “Community” and is also known as rapper Childish Gambino. He has been featured in movies such as “Magic Mike XXL” and “The Last Martian.“ He will also be producing and starring in the musical comedy series “Atlanta” on FX. Glover had already been involved with Spider-Man, as a fan campaign wanted him to play the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man in the Sony reboot “The Amazing Spider-Man.“ While that did not go through, Glover did voice Miles Morales in the cartoon series “Ultimate Spider-Man.“
The film is directed by Jon Watts and written by Jon Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein. The Marvel Studios version of Spider-Man made his debut in “Captain America: Civil War.“ “Spider-Man: Homecoming” will swing to theaters on July 7, 2017.
