Comic Con is coming staring July 21. While Marvel Studios stayed away last year, it looks like they will be returning. Scott Derrickson, the director Marvel‘s upcoming “Doctor Strange,“ recently posted on Twitter, “Will I be at Comic Con this year? Here’s a hint…” Along with this tweet, Derrickson also attached the image above, which shows the official movie poster for “Doctor Strange” on a Comic Con banner.
Right after this, director James Gunn retweeted the post, saying “Really? You’ll be so close. I might have to come see you.” This means that Gunn’s Marvel film, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2“ will be appearing at Comic Con with “Doctor Strange.” Recently, Gunn and the cast of “Vol. 2” finished principle photography for the sequel. If Derrickson and his film are appearing at comic Con, this would me that Gunn’s Marvel project is also coming too.
“Doctor Strange” will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, and Mads Mikkelsen, and will release November 4, 2016. Meanwhile, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will see the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker, and Karen Gillan, and will introduce newcomers Kurt Russell, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Nathan Fillion, and Sylvester Stallone. That film will come on May 5, 2017.
