Marvel and Disney are riding high, as “Captain America: Civil War” is number 1 at the box office once again with $72.5 million locally with another $84.2 million. While this is happening, “The Jungle Book” comes in at number 2 with $17.7 million locally and $15.2 million overseas, bringing its global total at $828 million. Meanwhile, “Money Monster” comes in at number 3 with an over performance at $15 million stateside and $4.7 million internationally, as the horror film “The Darkness” barely etches over at number 4 with $5.18 million.
Because of the earning from “Captain America,” this now makes all 13 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be making $10 billion total.The film for this week and last have given the film the total international cum $940.89 million. While this is good, stateside the total cum almost $300 million, with a trajectory of it becoming $430 million. This is 52% drop from last year’s local total cum of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which was around $1.5 billion.
Nevertheless, all films above are presently successful as of today. They are all currently in theaters now.
