Ever “Wonder” what could possibly happen? Well, now you can see it soon in theaters! “Wonder” will now be a motion picture adaptation, and award-winning actress Julia Roberts was casted as the mother. On the other hand, the main role will be played by child actor Jacob Tremblay, who starred with actress Brie Larson in “Room,” the award-winning movie who took home a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama earlier this year.

Ever since writing the book “Wonder,” R.J. Palacio’s hit novel has sold 2 million copies, and was published by Knopf Books for Young Reader. The original story center arounds Auggie Pullman, a boy born with a facial deformation. Auggie is then thrown into a mainstream school for the very first time, and will be a fifth grader at Beecher Prep.

Meanwhile, the crew of the upcoming film are quite promising! Director Stephen Chbosky is set to direct “Wonder.” Chbosky is well-known for directing the ever-so popular teenage film, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” back in 2012, and that was also a novel to screen adaptation! The screenplay was written by Jack Thorne and Steve Conrad, while production will be handled by Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman. The two are currently creating a banner for Mandeville Films.

Lionsgate will be handling film distributions of “Wonder,” selling it at this summer’s Cannes Film Festival, and the release date is to be determined
