It appears that the Star Wars Universe now has a new face to its most famous smuggler and likable scoundrel. According to insider sources, actor Alden Ehrenreich is in final negotiations to play a younger version of Han Solo in a spinoff directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord. Ehrenreich, Taron Egerton and Jack Raynor, were all considered the top three choices out of 2,500 young male actor search.
Ehrenreich began is acting career with small bit roles on TV before landing a lead role in Francis Ford Coppola‘s “Tetro.“ The actor then appeared in such films as “Beautiful Creatures,“ “Stoker,” and Woody Allen‘s “Blue Jasmine“ before breaking out as singing, simple-minded cowboy actor Hobie Doyle in the Coen Brothers film “Hail, Caesar!.” Ehrenreich is also starring in an upcoming untiled drama written, directed, and starring Warren Beatty and an adaption of the book “The Yellow Birds” with Tye Sheridan.
It was also stated that Han’s fellow sidekick, Chewbacca, will also be appearing in the film. Lawrence and Joe Kasdan have written the script to the film. Star Wars’ Han Solo spinoff is set to release May 25, 2018.
