Some sad news has befallen the cast and crew of “The Maze Runner: The Death Cure.” Due to the film’s lead star Dylan O Brien needing more time to recover from his injuries, this third installment in the Maze Runner trilogy has officially been dubbed as being delayed indefinitely.
O’ Brien had been earlier this year filming for the final story in the trilogy which now see’s Thomas (O’Brien) and his surviving Gladers adjusting more to life outside of the Maze. They all once again will have to battle the forces of WCKD to try and find a cure to the disease known as the Flare, that has decimated most of the population as well as come to terms with the events at the end of the last film.
For those who don’t know of the incident on March 18th, O’Brien on that day suffered brutal injures from an accident on set. In a particular scene O’Brien was riding a motorcycle that tipped over and he had slid along the ground. This lead to him landing hard on his head and being knocked out. Another vehicle in the scene is said to have accidentally ran over O’Brien as well. The “Teen Wolf” star suffered broken bones in his face among other places, serious lacerations and a concussion. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in the Vancouver section of Canada.
With this halt in production is quite obvious that the intended February 17th, 2017 date will be scraped off the table. As of now the future of this film’s production is officially in Limbo.
